The Ramones were an American punk rock band formed in the New York City neighbourhood Forest Hills, Queens in 1974. Band played 2263 shows in 22 years - that is essentially show every third day. Ramones made 14 studio albums and they are considered godfathers of Punk. Although they never achieved significant commercial success during their active years, the band is seen today as highly influential in punk culture.
The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002.
Joey Ramone
Johnny Ramone
John William Cummings (October 8, 1948 – September 15, 2004), better known by his stage name Johnny Ramone, was an American musician who was the guitarist and a founding member of the Ramones, a band that helped pioneer the punk movement. Until the band's disbandment in 1996, Johnny, along with the lead vocalist Joey Ramone, were the only two original members who stayed since its inception.
In 2009, Johnny appeared on Time's list of "The 10 Greatest Electric-Guitar Players".He ranked No. 8 on Spin's 2012 list of the "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time and No. 28 on Rolling Stone's similarly titled 2015 list.
Tommy Ramone
Thomas Erdelyi (January 29, 1949 – July 11, 2014), known professionally as Tommy Ramone, was an American musician. He was the drummer for the influential punk rock band the Ramones from its debut in 1974 to 1978, later serving as its producer, and was the longest-surviving original member of the Ramones.
CJ Ramone
Christopher Joseph Ward (born October 8, 1965), better known as C. J. Ramone, is an American musician. He is best known for performing from 1989 to 1996 as the bassist, backing vocalist and occasional lead vocalist of the punk rock group the Ramones after replacing original bassist Dee Dee Ramone, a role that lasted until the band's retirement.
Jeffry Ross Hyman (May 19, 1951 – April 15, 2001), known professionally as Joey Ramone. Joey cofounded the Ramones in 1974. Initially the band's drummer, Joey switched to lead vocals shortly after the group's formation. Appearing on all the band's releases, he, along with guitarist Johnny Ramone, are the only two original members who stayed in the band until it disbanded in 1996.
Dee Dee Ramone
Douglas Glenn Colvin (September 18, 1951 – June 5, 2002), better known by his stage name Dee Dee Ramone, was an American musician. He was the bassist and a founding member of the punk rock band the Ramones. Throughout the band's existence, he was the most prolific lyricist and composer, writing many of their best-known songs, such as "53rd & 3rd", "Chinese Rock", "Commando", "Wart Hog", "Rockaway Beach", "Poison Heart" and "Bonzo Goes To Bitburg" (also known as "My Brain Is Hanging Upside Down"). The latter won the New York Music Award for best independent single of the year in 1986, while Animal Boy, which the song is from, won for best album.
Marky Ramone
Marc Steven Bell (born July 15, 1952) is an American drummer. He began playing in hard rock bands in the New York City area, notably Dust and Estus. He was asked to drum for punk rock band Richard Hell and the Voidoids. He replaced drummer Tommy Ramone in the Ramones in 1978, and went by the stage name Marky Ramone from then on. He has also played drums for other punk rock and heavy metal bands, including his own band Marky Ramone and the Intruders. He continues to keep the Ramones legacy alive around the world with his band Marky Ramone's Blitzkrieg.

Clement Burke (born Clement Anthony Bozewski; November 24, 1954)[1] is an American musician who is best known as the drummer for the band Blondie from 1975, shortly after the band formed, throughout the band's entire career, and he appeared on every band’s albums, along with two founding members, Debbie Harry and Chris Stein. He also played drums for the Ramones for a brief time in 1987, under the name Elvis Ramone.
Richard Reinhardt (born August 11, 1957) is an American drummer best known by his stage name Richie Ramone, and for being the drummer for the punk band the Ramones from February 1983 until August 1987. As of 2024, he is one of four surviving members of the band, the others being Marky Ramone, Elvis Ramone, and C.J. Ramone. Richie appeared on three studio albums with the Ramones and played on Joey Ramone's second solo album ...Ya Know? He has later released three solo albums and currently fronts his own solo band.
